Access Statement
We will make every effort to make your stay with us comfortable, and to accommodate any special requirements that you may have wherever we can.
The information below relates to the layout of the house and rooms, and the services we can offer. If you have any other requests, concerns or questions, please ask us.
Car Parking
Our car park is enclosed with level paving. There is space for seven guests’ cars. A space directly in front of the entrance door can be reserved for you on request.
Entrance and Ground Floor Public Rooms
The entrance door to the house is wide enough (102cm) to accommodate a wheelchair and is level with the car park.
We have space to keep wheelchairs in the Reception Hall, and can also recharge electric wheelchairs here. A door (opening 69 cm) opens into the Guests’ Lounge where a settee and armchair are available. A further door (opening 70 cm) opens into the Breakfast Room.
The breakfast room is furnished with circular tables seating 2 people, height 73 cm. The room is spacious enough to accommodate wheelchairs at the tables.
Lighting in these rooms is adjustable.
There is a cloakroom with a wc and washbasin off the breakfast room.
Ground Floor Bedroom (Room 1)
Guide dogs are allowed to stay with their owner in this room.
The ground floor bedroom is accessed by a door with an opening of 65 cm from the Reception Hall. This room has two single beds and may be suitable for guests who have limited mobility. There is also a dressing table, chest of drawers, bedside tables and two arm chairs. The room has a single step in it, between the entrance lobby and shower room, and the bedroom area itself, and is therefore not suitable for wheelchair users. The room is lit by an overhead light, table lamps on the chest of drawers and dressing table and bedside lamps.
Stairs to First Floor
The stairs are accessed by a fire door with an opening of 74cm. The stairs are 81 cm wide with a 90 degree turn, taken over 3 steps, with good lighting. There is a right hand banister. The first floor landing is 84cm wide.
First Floor Bedrooms
Single room (Room 2)
Room 2 has a door opening width of 70cm. This room has a single bed and a washbasin with razor light within the room. A shower (75cm x 75cm) and enclosure, and a wc, are accessed through a door (opening 62cm). A desk with stool, drawers and a mirror and is available in front of the window, and there is a wardrobe in the room. There is an overhead light and a bedside light, and good daytime lighting from the sash window.
Double room (Room 3)
Room 3 has a door opening width of 70cm. This room has a 4′ 6″ wide double bed and a washbasin with razor light within the room. A shower (75cm x 75cm) and enclosure, and a wc, are accessed through a door (opening 63cm). There are two chairs with a small table, and a wardrobe, and also a chest of drawers and bedside cabinets in this room. There is an overhead light, bedside lighting and table lamps on the table and chest of drawers.
Stairs to Second Floor
This flight of stairs is comparatively steep. It is 81 cm wide with a 90 degree turn taken over three steps. There are two banisters extending to the turn, and a right hand banister from thereon. With treads of 23 cm, and risers of 22 cms, this flight of stairs is slightly steeper than the lower flight. The stairs open onto a top landing with good natural and artificial lighting.
Twin Room (Room 4)
This room has a door opening of 70cm. There are two single beds, a desk with stool and mirror and a chair. Lighting is provided by an overhead light, bedside lamps and a table lamp on the desk.
A door with an opening of 55cm gives onto the shower room, which has a wc, basin and shower in an enclosure. There is a window in this room, which is lit by an overhead light and razor light above the mirror. A magnifying shaving mirror is also provided.
Family Room (Room 5)
This room has a door opening of 70cm. There is a 4’6″ wide double bed and two single beds, which can be stored together to make extra space. There is also a settee, coffee table, chair and chest of drawers, and bedside tables. Lighting is provided by an overhead lamp, bedside table lamps and a table lamp on the coffee table.
The shower room is entered through a door with an opening of 60cm. It has a quadrant (quarter circle) shower with a radius of 90cm and a basin and wc. Lighting is provided by an overhead light and razor light. There is a magnifying shaving mirror in this room in addition to a mirror over the basin.
Twin Room (Room 6)
The opening to this room is 70cm. The room has two single beds, a desk with a stool and mirror, a coffee table, two chairs and bedside tables. Lighting is provided by an overhead light, a table lamp on the desk and bedside lamps.
A door with an opening of 60cm gives entry to the shower room, which has a shower (75cm x 75cm) in an enclosure, a wc and a basin. Lighting is provided by an overhead light and a razor light above the mirror, over the basin.
King-sized Double Room (Room 7)
The opening to this room is 70cm. The room has a 5′ wide bed, leather settee, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. There is also a small table and chair.

All rooms have allergy-free bedding and pillows. We can provide duvets on request.
Garden
The garden is accessed through a gate with an opeing of 73cm beside the house. There is a level semi-circular lawn with a patio and flower beds at the top of the garden. Garden seating and tables are provided. A single step leads to the remainder of the garden, which is planted up with herbaceous beds and shrubs. A vegetable garden can be found at the end of the garden.
Breakfast Menu
We can supply you with menus with enlarged text, and will also take the time to explain choices on the menu. We keep vegetarian sausages and gluten free bread in stock, and can cater for other dietary needs, eg, dairy free, if given a day’s advance notice.

We have a range of leaflets available, and are knowledgeable about the area – please ask us for our suggestions for places to visit. We can also enlarge texts on tourism leaflets if we are given notice.
